Basic Taekwondo Knowledge

Taekwondo is a Martial Art originating from Korea. The word Taekwondo means literally the foot and hand way/art.

The governing body for Taekwondo worldwide is the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF).
In Europe it is the European Taekwondo Union (ETU).
In the UK it is the British Taekwondo Control Board (BTCB).
The headquarters of the WTF is in Seoul, Korea and is called the Kukkiwon.
The president of the WTF is Dr. Un Yong Kim.
The president of the BTCB is Grand Master Park Soo Nam.
Taekwondo is a fully programmed Olympic sport.
The tenents of Taekwondo are : etiquette, modesty, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit.
